For our taste, no one grows finer Syrah in the state than Dick Boushey. We make this wine with minimal manipulation, using native yeasts and bottling unfined and unfiltered, to allow the “place” to shine through. We named this wine after the Provencal Troubadour Arnaut Daniel, who invented the Sestina poem form, thus creating a connection between our two flagship efforts.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, 95pts - "A sensational wine that offers awesome purity, full-bodied richness, ripe tannin, and a great finish. With classic notes of black and blue fruits, pepper, olive, graphite and lavender, this sexy Syrah is going to drink nicely for at least a decade. Drink date: 2017-2027." - Jeb Dunnuck
2014 Arnaut Winemaker Tasting Note— "Seductive and complex aromas of blueberry reduction, crushed rock, cured meat, orange peel, and dried savory herbs. Very intense and nuanced on the palate, intermingling the pure dark fruits of the vintage with the complex meat and mineral notes of the vineyard. A distinct pure cacao element lends great depth to the finish." -CP
