Grenache

Like the ghost that haunts our winemaker’s house, Parapine has mysteriously returned. This Grenache, like many of our other wines, was demanding to be made and shared. Savory, balanced flavors with a bold and lasting finish. Enjoy it while it lasts, as we're not sure if or when it will reappear.

"Notably fresh on the nose, with spring strawberry, raspberry, ripe black plum, tarragon, licorice pastille, freshly tilled earth, and hints of crushed white stone. The palate is alive and lively, bursting with dark red raspberry, plum, strawberry leaf, milk chocolate, fresh tarragon and sage. This wine is a joy to drink now, but there’s a seriousness and concentration to the finish that leads us to believe it will age nicely in the bottle for a few years to come. Named after a ghost in the winemaker’s house, this wine is nothing if not haunting. Fruit comes from Andrews Family and WeatherEye, along with a portion from Upland. Blended with 15% Mourvèdre and 3% Syrah, it was aged 16 months in neutral oak. The aromas are vivid, with notes of blue and purple fruit, black raspberry, violet, lavender, tarragon, and dried herb. Sappy, rich, pleasingly focused red and black fruit flavors follow. It keeps humming along on the outrageously long finish. It’s a complete ‘Wow!’ wine. Decant for 1.5 hours, and enjoy it at the lower end of the recommended 62-66 degree spectrum. But enjoy it you will." - Sean P. Sullivan
